” Since completing my training through the Innovation Teaching School programme, I have undertaken the role of KS2 Teacher in a school specialising in supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties. The training and support that I received across my time on the course enabled me to not only transition into my new role effectively, but to continue to excel as an outstanding practitioner. My mentor (Janet), like many of the staff at The Ridgeway Community School, inspired and enriched my progression, equipping me with all of the knowledge and experience that I needed to not only begin a career in teaching, but to continue to progress long after my time at the school had come to an end. As such, I am now at the stage of finishing my Masters degree in Education (MA[Ed]) and am looking to continue further, whilst still applying the ideas and pedagogy acquired during my time on the course. I continue to use the experience and training acquired through the Innovation Teaching School programme as a foundation, informing both my classroom practice and approach to further research. As such, I hold my time on the Innovation Teaching School programme to be one of the most wonderfully challenging and enriching experiences of my life. It was an experience on which a career can and will be built.”
